A pair of Pelham Puppets redressed as the young Queen Victoria and her consort Prince Albert

 - these puppets have now been sold -

This was a really fun project to do and I had a good few hours fun hunting down photographs and portraits of the couple as research for my designs. It was a real change to have actual photos to work from, as my usual historical character creations only have paintings of their likenesses to work from.

Victoria wears a dusky rose-pink, duchesse satin ballgown, trimmed with gathered lace, imitation pearls and a cut glass gem. Her bodice is fully structured and boned and she sports lace trimmed pantalets and a lacy petticoat under her skirts. Her hair is a newly styled centre parted wig and is embellished with multiple lilac flowers.

Albert wears a red velvet military jacket trimmed with gold braid, pearl buttons and a gold crown medal. He sports a blue taffeta sash and red banded, black, imitation raw silk trousers. His hair has been specifically attached and his newly painted facial hair and eye colour has been added/altered to further his likeness to the Prince.

Both puppets use a vintage Pelham Puppet as a base for the new designs. Also each is attached to an original Pelham controller and the correct string colour has been used.
