A Pelham Puppet redressed as
Scarlett O'Hara
Wearing her barbeque dress from the wonderful
Gone with the Wind!
Gone with the Wind!
This puppet used a Pelham Puppet Ballet Girl as a base.
To achieve a likeness to the fabulous Vivien Leigh, who played Scarlett in the epic film, I fully repainted her face and replaced and styled her hair from scratch.
Her dress is made from a speciality cotton fabric, created to be an exact replica of the fabric from the original barbeque dress - designed by Melly_de_Bellegarde. It sits over a wide two-tired hooped crinoline and is trimmed by imitation Victorian, green ribbon-woven lace and green satin Beresford ribbon.
Her hat was crafted from hessian to create a straw style effect and is also trimmed with lace and ribbon.
Below is a close up view of the fabric used in the dress -
designed by Melly_de_Bellegarde.
