Victorian Lady/Empress Sisi
Her gown is crafted of blue cotton velvet, trimmed with gathered lace and the boned corset bodice, edged with pleated lace and satin bows, is laced at it's back. The dress is supported by a full, two tiered, crinoline skirt.
Duchess Elisabeth of Bavaria, more commonly known as Sisi, married Emperor Franz Joseph I of Austria in 1854. Sisi was renowned for her obsession with maintaining her youth, her beautiful long hair and eating disorders. She was also famous for her sense of fashion and was loved and imitated by her people, especially the Hungarians of whom she was also Queen.
She was assassinated, stabbed while alighting from a boat, in Geneva in 1898.
