A third design from my new collection - A Pelham Puppet redressed as Becky Sharp from Vanity Fair...

A Pelham Puppet redressed as the infamous anti-heroine
Becky Sharp

From William Makepeace Thackeray's novel Vanity Fair -

This creation used a Pelham Puppet Cinderella as a base.
Becky Sharp has always been a favourite of mine. The way that she climbs to the pinnacle of society - only to fall - is always a fascinating read and inspired me to recreate her red ball dress, which she wears to the Napoleonic ball.
Becky Sharp was most famously portrayed by Reese Witherspoon in the 2004 film adaptation of Vanity Fair.
The Regency, empire line gown has a velvet bodice and red taffeta skirts and sleeves. The gowns lining is a supportive cotton. The dress is trimmed with pleated linen, pearls, gold lace edging and a diamante chain around it's neck-line. She holds a small bag/receptacle - embellished with a gold, broken heart charm - wears a diamond necklace and has two diamond style bracelets on her wrists.

The hair was removed from the puppet and cleaned with a sponge and soapy water, gently brushed through and fully restyled into a bun. The hair's decorative embellishment incorporates pleated linen, back satin roses, pearls and a beaded toile/netted veil.
Her sleeves are puffed taffeta and the gown corset laces at it's rear.
